The flaneur way invites you to OBSERVE. EXPLORE. CREATE. on a FLANEUR walk and talk.

Join me as I guide you on a creative mindful walk through the urban landscape of Montreal. We will stroll down the streets, alleyways, into a nearby park. Taking time to slow down and TUNE IN, to observe and explore the inner and outer landscapes, through the senses.

On these walks and talks, Jennifer will offer some of her tips and tools for flaneuring. Sharing her knowledge and experience on the importance and healing aspects of incorporating creativity, wellbeing, and exploration in your everyday.

Joining her, as a special guest flaneur, Mustafa Hacalaki. Mustafa is a Montreal based photographer, illustrator. He will co-guide, and share his tips, tricks, and knowledge on being an observer and creator in this urban landscape. Offering his own personal guidance on creative techniques, who or what inspires him, to his favorite subject matter.

Let's all take a break from our phones, and screen time to step outside for some fresh air. Take a moment to connect, learn and discover these urban vistas together.

There will be intentional pauses along the way to take note of the moments. Jennifer will be sharing some creative mindful techniques in observing and documenting the experience. Encouraging moments to create and express your unique authentic vision and voice.

Jennifer Cloutier is a visual artist, avid traveler, and wellness educator, born in Maidstone Ontario, and residing in Montreal, Quebec. She has always felt the need to observe, explore and create. Beginning with the act of observing through the senses, she unites these three passions. Using different mediums to document and express her visions, she is passionate to tell the story of others, the creative process, and the daily aspects of life. She strives to create, guide, and share sensory experiences for people to connect, learn, and be inspired by.

GUEST FLANEUR- Mustafa Hacalaki ( photographer, Illustrator )

Mustafa Hacalaki, is a photographer, graphic artist, and illustrator born in Izmir, Turkey, based in Montréal/Canada since 2009. In 2007, I received my MA degree from Dokuz Eylül University, Institute of Education Sciences, Department of Fine Arts. He has participated in several national and international exhibitions.

Mustafa has his own unique style. With a keen eye, one can easily pick his work out from the rest merely by the choice of moody and atmospheric settings, the shadowy or reflective characters and the bold lines created by surrounding objects and architecture that lead the eye directly into the main subject. Often framing his characters, solo, in cafe’s, at night, on quiet walks through parks or urban environments, he is able to capture these intimate moments of solitude, giving us the viewer a chance to be a fly on the wall and become a voyeur in their lives for a moment.
