Mira Cuba is a collection of impressions and expressions inspired by a journey, a creative process, and a sensory experience. Observations captured from everyday moments from the simple to the ordinary and everything that lies in the space between. Documented in Cuba from 2014 onwards.
Like a modern-day flaneur, I strolled the streets with a camera over my shoulder and a sketchbook tucked under my arm. I went with the flow of Cuban life, and let the moment take me to where I was meant to go and whom I was meant to meet.
Within these pages is a personal account of my visions and thoughts, observed, documented, and expressed through the mediums of writing, photography, and drawing. Bound together for you to HOLD to FEEL LOOK to SEE, and CONNECT to SENSE.
Equally, 2020 was a time to slow down, tune in and get back to being a flaneur of our everyday. This time in our own backyards, living rooms, and nearby streets.
